On Arab Orphans Day, Al Aman Fund Affirms: Empowering Orphaned Youth is a Responsibility, Not Sympathy

April 2026 – On Arab Orphans Day, observed annually on the first Friday of April, Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans celebrates two decades of sustainable impact. Over the past 20 years, the Fund has empowered thousands of orphaned youth, graduates of residential care homes, as well as youth across the Kingdom whose economic circumstances have hindered their access to education.

On this occasion, the Fund reaffirms its national mission, calling on individuals and institutions across both the public and private sectors to unite efforts around a two-decade journey of support and empowerment. It emphasizes that investing in the education and empowerment of orphaned youth is not a choice, but a fundamental responsibility shared by all members of society to build a more stable and prosperous future for these young individuals.

Arab Orphans Day serves as an important opportunity to raise societal awareness of the challenges and needs of orphaned youth, reinforcing that supporting them is not limited to a single day each year, but rather a continuous commitment whose impact extends across society as a whole. In this context, Al Aman Fund plays a vital role in transforming awareness into tangible impact through its innovative and diverse programs, which engage various segments of society in supporting education, living expenses, mental health, and capacity-building programs. These efforts enable youth to compete with their peers and successfully transition into independent, self-reliant lives.

Over the past two decades, Al Aman Fund has driven meaningful, lasting change in the lives of thousands of orphaned youth, redefining what long-term empowerment truly means. The Fund provides a comprehensive support system that accompanies youth throughout their educational and life journeys, extending into their integration into the labor market, the establishment of their own businesses and families, and ultimately leading to safe and independent lives. Since its establishment, the Fund has impacted the lives of over 5,000 orphaned youth through fully funded scholarships spanning 4 to 5 years across various academic disciplines, and up to 6 years for medical fields, in addition to vocational training and college programs ranging from one to two years.

This reflects the scale of the shared commitment required from both the Fund and society to enable orphaned youth to build dignified and independent lives. The average annual sponsorship per beneficiary from residential care graduates exceeds approximately JOD 7,000, depending on the field of study and academic pathway, in addition to living costs including housing, stipends, health insurance, and empowerment and capacity-building programs. This figure represents the level of annual investment required to support each beneficiary throughout their journey until they achieve independence and build their future with confidence.

The Fund also emphasizes that the impact achieved over the years would not have been possible without a broad network of partners and supporters. Institutions from both the public and private sectors, as well as schools and educational institutions, have played a key role in supporting the Fund’s programs and expanding its reach to a greater number of beneficiaries. The Fund further invites individuals to contribute to creating lasting impact in the lives of orphaned youth by donating through its website and selecting a support program with ease: https://alamanfund.jo/ar/ways-to-give-ar/donate-ar helping expand its reach and empower even more young people.
